New CEO says he will continue initiatives to empower young people in the region
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, Appoints Sheikh Tsab bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan as Arab Youth President of the center, which coincides with World Youth Day.
Established in 2017 through a UAE Cabinet resolution, the Arab Youth Centre will continue to implement initiatives and programmes that empower youth in the region, enhance their skills and increase their participation and contribution to development.
Sheikh Theyab applauded the UAE Cabinet’s confidence in his abilities, stressing that he will continue his efforts to empower young people by prioritizing investment in human resources.
He added that youth represented the wealth of the region, noting their ability to build communities and accelerate development processes.
He further added that the Centre will continue its work within the framework of the UAE leadership’s strategic vision to enhance human resource capabilities and will soon launch a series of initiatives, programmes and projects aimed at doubling the positive impact.
Sheikh Theyab then noted that the centre will strengthen partnerships with Arab youth ministries and youth organisations to improve their skills in technology, media, content creation and diplomacy.
The Arab Youth Centre was established in response to the aspirations of Arab youth to empower them in their respective countries and to promote joint Arab youth action, comprising a series of comprehensive initiatives aimed at empowering youth, including youth development representing the Arab region, Arab youth climate Change Council, Arab Youth Media Leaders Program, Arab Youth Technology Scholarship, Arab Youth Research Platform, Youth Solutions Program and Arab Young Diplomatic Leaders Program.
Earlier this year, the Centre, in partnership with the Arab League, organised the Arab Youth Leaders Conference on the sidelines of the Dubai World Government Summit, with 15 youth ministers and more than 50 leaders and 120 young pioneers in youth action.
