Shocked Rashid Manjuor Ahmed could not respond when presenter called to inform news
Abu Dhabi-based Pakistani diaspora won Dh12 million in a big draw in the capital.
Rashid Manzur Ahmad bought lottery number 037909 on July 23 and won the jackpot on the second attempt. And he bought the tickets himself, which means he is the only winner of the Dh12 million.
When showrunner Richard called to tell him about the windfall, Ahmed wasn’t at all interested.
“I doubt something will be won,” said Ahmed, who has lived in the UAE for the past 28 years.
He was shocked and couldn’t believe his luck when he was told he had pocketed the Dh12 million prize. Completely unbelievable, he couldn’t respond.

Ahmed is from Lahore, Pakistan. He first encountered Big Ticket at Abu Dhabi International Airport after returning from abroad. He purchased the ticket by visiting the in-store counter at the airport. He only won after a second chance at a raffle ticket.
When asked how he planned to spend his money, Rashid said he would use some of the cash incentives to repay the loan. The rest will be used for the education of his five children, who are completing different programs: PhD, Masters and Bachelors programs.
Meanwhile, Sajikumar Sukumaran took home the second prize of Dh1 million and Tausif Akhter took home Dh100,000. Sharon Cabello is the winner of the Dream Car BMW X5.
AED 20 million is up for grabs in next month’s draw. The lucky jackpot winner will be announced on September 3rd. The second prize is worth AED 1 million and the third prize is AED 100,000.
Tickets can be purchased online through the Big Ticket website or at the in-store counters at Abu Dhabi and Al Ain airports.
