Emirates’ national carrier, Etihad Airways, will add four weekly flights to its Abu Dhabi-New York route from 15 November, offering a total of 11 non-stop weekly services to John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK).
The new flights will be operated by Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, while existing daily services will continue to be provided by Etihad’s new Airbus A350 aircraft, which have been deployed on the New York route since June. These aircraft types are two of the most efficient in the world, with significantly reduced fuel consumption and CO2 emissions compared to the previous generation of twin-aisle aircraft.
The increase in frequency will provide travellers with more choice and flexibility between Abu Dhabi and New York and comes just in time for the Formula 1 Artifacts to be held at Yas Island, Abu Dhabi from 17-20 November 2022 Start before the Harder Air Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
Passengers will also benefit from New York and Etihad Airways’ global network of 70 destinations, particularly in the Middle East, Indian subcontinent and South East Asia, as well as improved routes outside New York to and from 46 destinations in the Americas, Etihad Airways Codeshare partner — and New York’s hometown airline® — JetBlue.

“Our New York route continues to perform strongly, with passenger demand already at record levels this summer, and Etihad is delighted to invest further in this market by increasing frequency levels ahead of the peak winter travel period.”
Etihad passengers travelling to the US will be able to take advantage of Etihad’s US Pre-Clearance Facility, the only US Customs and Border Protection facility in the Middle East. This allows US-bound passengers to handle all immigration, customs and agricultural checks in Abu Dhabi before boarding, avoiding immigration and queues upon arrival in the US.
With 11 weekly flights to New York JFK and daily flights to Chicago and Washington, Etihad Airways will offer a total of 25 weekly flights between Abu Dhabi and the US this winter, More than 50% more premium seating season than winter 2021. – arab trade news agency
