CM, UAE envoys agree to boost economic ties

Lahore: The Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Hamad Obeid Ibrahim Salim Al Zabi, met Punjab Chief Minister Chowdhury Pervaiz on Tuesday in Punjab, Islamabad. Errahi, and discussed issues related to common interests, promoting relations and strengthening cooperation in various fields.

Both parties agreed to start work at the Mubarak Centre on Ferozepur Road in Lahore, while also agreeing to strengthen close ties in the future to foster economic ties. Punjab Chief Minister Chowdhury Perwaiz Errahi thanked UAE Minister Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan as Dhabi Group will invest billions of rupees, a copy released here handout said. He added that the Punjab government will fully support the construction of the Mubarak Center, noting that the Mubarak Center will be the tallest building in Lahore. He added that the state-of-the-art Mubarak Centre will feature a business centre and a seven-star hotel, which will be connected to Gaddafi Stadium via a sky bridge. He said the plan would greatly facilitate access to the Gaddafi Stadium for international players, while easing traffic jams on Lahore’s busy roads. CM said the provincial government will advance work on the project as it will boost business activity while creating jobs. He noted that there are fraternal relations between Pakistan and the UAE, adding that the time has come to transform these relations into strategic partnerships. He said there are huge investment opportunities in Punjab from which UAE investors can benefit. -application

UAE diplomats meet governor: United Arab Emirates Ambassador Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Saleem Al Zaabi visited Punjab Governor Balighur Rehman at the Governor’s Palace on Tuesday.

The meeting discussed issues of common concern and strengthened bilateral trade and cooperation in various fields. Addressing the occasion, the UAE Ambassador said that the Pakistani community has played an important role in the UAE’s economy and development over the years. He said Pakistan’s relationship with the UAE is a model for the region. He said it was necessary to further boost trade relations with Pakistan.

The UAE ambassador said Pakistani investors should start establishing joint ventures to invest in various sectors of the UAE. He added that the UAE hopes to further expand cooperation with Pakistan in various fields including health, education, agriculture, biotechnology and food security.
