Ain: The Faculty of Engineering of the United Arab Emirates University recently held the “Student Orientation” for the first semester of the 2022-2023 academic year in the Faculty of Information Technology Building – on campus, faculty, staff and students were present.
Dr. Salem Al Zahmi, Assistant Dean of Student Affairs, said the orientation session was designed to guide freshmen in choosing a major after completing the introductory course. Faculty, staff and seniors provide freshmen with important details about available majors. He pointed out that in the first semester of this academic year, the School of Engineering has enrolled 956 undergraduate students, 103 master students and 36 doctoral students.
The Faculty of Engineering, in accordance with its academic strategic plan, seeks to make engineering education and innovation essential elements of success, and to attract creative and innovative students to the various academic programs and disciplines of the Faculty’s various departments and its research centers. The courses at the Faculty of Engineering of the United Arab Emirates University provide rich experiential learning opportunities and promote a culture of engineering innovation. The Faculty of Engineering includes five main academic divisions for undergraduate and graduate degrees.
The Faculty also offers new courses for undergraduates to keep up with scientific developments at international universities in architecture, chemical engineering, petroleum engineering, civil and environmental engineering, electrical engineering, communications engineering, mechanical engineering and aerospace engineering.
Undergraduate programs are accredited by the Engineering and Technology Accreditation Commission of ABET, in addition to the role and efforts of qualified and experienced faculty and administrators in supporting the high quality and accreditation of undergraduate and graduate programs.
