Missouri Department of Conservation Offers Hunting Lessons | Recreation

The hybrid format has two parts (knowledge and skills) and can be completed by Missouri residents 11 years of age and older. The knowledge section provides participants with information on all aspects of hunter education, available through a free self-study guide (available at the MDC Northwest Regional Office in St. Joseph) or online in a classroom setting.

Participants using the hybrid format must also complete a four-hour skills course that includes a multiple-choice final exam. The skills section is a hands-on demonstration of the skills the participant has learned. Participants using the mixed format must complete and pass both sections to be certified.

For individuals wishing to participate in a hybrid format, a skills session is planned for October 8 at Northwest Technical School, Maryville, 1515 S. Munn St., from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.

Interested students please register before class to ensure they have a seat. There may not be enough seats for walk-in registration.Registration can be found online mdc.mo.gov. Participant must bring a Student Handbook or Online Skills Course Qualification Certificate with all chapter reviews completed for entry.
