Expo City Dubai is gearing up to open on 1 October, building on Expo 2020 Dubai’s promise to inspire future generations.
Ahead of the official opening of Dubai Expo City in October, visitors will be invited to experience two of the most popular pavilions from September 1, with Alif – The Mobility Pavilion and Terra – The Sustainability Pavilion marking the relaunch of the first chapter Open Dubai Expo City tour.
Tickets are priced at AED 50 (US$ 13.6) per pavilion per person and can be purchased at expocitydubai.com and from 1 September at four ticket offices in Expo City Dubai. The Sky Garden, with its breathtaking 360-degree panoramic views, will also open on September 1, with tickets priced at AED 30 each. Children 12 and under and those with determination are free to visit the attractions.
Terra – a model of sustainable best practice in world-class architecture and design – will encourage visitors to re-evaluate their relationship with the environment through immersive ocean and forest tours, while Alif will lead explorers through time and across new horizons to discover How mobility has driven human progress throughout history. Alif and Terra will be open daily from 1000-1800, while the Hanging Gardens will be open from 1500-1800, extending to 1000-1800 from September 16th.
Other popular projects at Expo 2020 Dubai – including Al Wasl Square, a surreal water feature, the Women’s Pavilion and the Vision Pavilion, as well as a children’s playground and carousel – will open in October. Later this year, the Opportunity Pavilion will become the Expo 2020 Dubai Museum – a new pavilion that highlights the history and impact of the Expo and celebrates the success of Expo 2020 Dubai.
Expo City Dubai is also looking forward to the return of Emirati students, with the Expo Schools programme (www.schools.expocitydubai.com) preparing a stunning and evolving series of immersive educational experiences, exhibitions and interactive workshops reflecting the pavilion.
Most public areas of Expo City Dubai will be open and free to visit. Visitors can choose to walk, while buggies, Expo Explorers, e-scooters and e-bikes are also available (for a fee).
Dubai Expo City is easily accessible by metro, car and taxi. Parking is available at Al Forsan, Jubilee, Mobility and Sustainability, including dedicated parking for the determined. – arab trade news agency
