Matt Bellamy’s son put him in a slipknot.

The Muse frontman has revealed that his 11-year-old son Bingham – who is with ex-fiancee Kate Hudson – enjoys playing heavy metal on the way to school, while the Corey Taylor-led band The final part inspired the band. The tone of the heavier tracks on Muse’s new album “Will Of The People,” including “Won’t Stand Down” and “Kill Or Be Killed.”

Matt found them “strong” at first, but after listening carefully began to appreciate the “amazing” guitar playing.

He said: “They are a band I should have mentioned earlier.

“Obviously I’ve known them for a while, but I’ve never really listened to them seriously.

“My son has suddenly become a huge Slipknot fan.

“I would drive him to school and he would scream.

“I’ll try to fix this, but the more I listen, the more I realize the beauty of guitar playing.

“I think one of them (Jim Root) used Orange (amp).

“So we used a little orange on the two heavier tracks.”

The ‘Plug In Baby’ rocker added to Total Guitar magazine: “I would never say we tried to sound like Slipknot – you can’t do anything to sound like that band because they are so unique and incredible .

“But I think we rediscovered them last year.

“I remember when the first album (same title, 1999) came out.

“I remember listening to it so many times, but I ended up getting lost.

“I went to one of their stadiums in Los Angeles not long ago and it was a very intense game… there’s nothing better than that.”
