To increase community engagement and direct communication with all segments of society, Abu Dhabi’s Department of Municipal and Transport (DMT) has launched a new initiative to incorporate community perspectives and aspirations into its planning and implementation phases.
As part of the Nshawercom initiative, a number of formal councils, parliaments and community forums will be held across the emirate.
Nshawercom means “we consult you” and it engages with the community, collecting feedback and data from the community and customer service. It will then analyse and document the views and needs of the residents of Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al Dhafrah and address them.
Falah Al Ahbabi, Chairman of DMT, said: “The Nshawercom initiative represents a new step that will allow us to understand their (community’s) perspectives and understand their aspirations. In addition, we can engage more youth forces in shaping our vision for the future. The vision of the city is based on innovation.”
The department will also work with young talent to develop their abilities as key drivers of development and change, to benefit from innovative ideas and to understand their aspirations.
Al Ahbabi added: “Community engagement is an important part of our strategic plan to ensure its stability and prosperity, and strengthen Abu Dhabi’s position as one of the world’s best destinations to live, work and travel.”
