New community initiatives beckon in Abu Dhabi

As part of the Nshawercom initiative, DMT and its affiliates will hold formal councils, parliaments and community forums across the emirate.

Nshawercom means “we consult you” and it interacts with all parts of the community and hears them directly based on specific criteria developed from their feedback and data gathered from customer service center reports. In this way, DMT can tailor its operations to the needs of the residents of the emirate. Furthermore, it will encourage continued collaboration with all sectors to promote sustainable and integrated progress.

Falah Al Ahbabi, Chairman of the Ministry of Municipalities and Transport, said: “For sustainable development to be successful, direct communication with the community is essential. Providing more tools to measure people’s satisfaction with key sectors is our constant goal.” Nshawercom “The initiative represents a new step that will allow us to understand their perspectives and understand their aspirations. In addition, we can engage more youth forces to shape our vision of future cities based on innovation.”

DMT will analyse and document the views and needs of residents of Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al Dhafrah and work with its affiliated entities to address these issues.

Throughout the programme, the department will also strengthen its collaboration with young talents to develop their abilities as key drivers of development and change, to benefit from innovative ideas and to understand their aspirations.

As part of the Nshawercom initiative, a group of employees from DMT and its affiliated entities, including managers and experts, will highlight the importance of communicating with the community, raising awareness of building effective communication bridges with the public, and informing them of major developments across all important field.

Al Ahbabi added: “Community engagement is an important part of our strategic plan to ensure its stability and prosperity, and strengthen Abu Dhabi’s position as one of the world’s best destinations to live, work and travel.”
