UAE to spend $5 billion to build ‘moon’ resort – Middle East Monitor

The UAE is looking to build a $5 billion (Dh18 billion) moon-like resort, according to a report last week. arabic business.

Canadian construction firm and property licensor Moon World Resorts Inc (MWR) is reported to have backed the proposed project, which is expected to be completed in 48 months with a total height of 735 feet (224 meters).

The luxurious lunar complex will be the latest addition to Dubai’s futuristic city skyline. “Lunar Dubai will be the largest and most successful modern tourism project in the entire MENA region, doubling annual tourism visits to Dubai based on its global appeal, brand recognition and unique multiple integrated offerings,” Co-Founder of MRW People Sandra Matthews and Michael Henderson tell Arab Business. Henderson further explained that it “could comfortably accommodate 10 million annual visitors.”

The development will be surrounded by a “moon colony” with a capacity of 2.5 million guests a year to experience “affordable space tourism” in the country.

Henderson said: “Lunar Dubai will significantly impact all aspects of the emirate’s economy, including tourism, transport, commercial and residential real estate, infrastructure, financial services, aviation and aerospace, energy, exhibitions, agriculture, technology and, of course, education .” will “firmly place the UAE flag at the forefront of space exploration”.

Henderson also revealed that the company hopes to provide licenses for other three globe resorts in North America, Europe and Africa.

“In the MENA region, we could see the development of the moon in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain or Kuwait,” he told The National.
