Hopkinton Family Day returns on Saturday for the first time since 2019 – events include live entertainment, family-friendly events, food trucks, fireworks

Hopkinton – Town Manager Norman Khumalo and Friends of Hopkinton President Ann Click would like to share more details on the entertainment and many activities at Hopkinton Family Day this weekend.

Coordinated by Friends of Hopkinton, Hopkinton Family Day is an exciting family event that includes live entertainment, fun activities for community members of all ages and delicious food trucks. A dazzling fireworks display will round off the event.
Community members will be able to enjoy captivating live entertainment and performers throughout the event, many of them locally sourced. The entertainment program is scheduled as follows:
- emcee ralph opening
- 2:20pm – 2:50pm — Harini Jeyaraman, classical Indian dancer
- 3pm – 3:30pm — new vocal assembly barbershop choir
- 3:40pm – 4:25pm — Magician Steven Craig
- Host Tang takes over
- 4:35pm – 5:15pm – Colin and Lily Herrich
- 5:30pm – 6:30pm — Barbara Kessler
- 6:40pm – 8pm — Thermoacoustics, Steve Spector
- 8pm — Fireworks start
From 2pm to 6pm, Hopkinton-based town organizations, nonprofits, clubs and businesses will offer a wide range of engagement activities. Sample activities that local groups will offer include:
- Instrument Sampling and Home Scarecrow Making at the Hopkinton Cultural Arts Center
- Story Tour of the Hopkinton Public Library
- Hopkinton Fire Department’s Virtual Home Sprinkler Demo
- Girl Scout Relay
- Cricket Demonstration at Hopkinton Cricket Club
- Cornhole for various town groups
- Guest magician Steven Craig demonstrates magic tricks after stage performance
- Big Bang Brain at Hopkinton Youth and Family Services shows effects of substance use on the brain
- Inflatable attractions
- face painting
- tattoo artist
- henna artist
Food trucks will be available throughout the event from 2pm to 8pm until the fireworks show starts around 8pm
Hopkinton Family Day is free to attend and all activities except the food truck are free.

Hopkinton Family Day was last held in 2019. The fireworks display could not be held in 2019 due to the risk posed by mosquitoes, and the full event could not be held in 2020 or 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
