Sept 14 (Reuters) – United Arab Emirates (UAE) Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed arrived in Tel Aviv on Wednesday for an official visit to Israel, marking the second anniversary of the signing of the so-called Abraham Accords between the two countries . News Agency (WAM) reports.
The U.S.-brokered deal ushered in a public rapprochement between Israel and several Arab states, with the UAE and Bahrain spearheading the signing of the agreement with Israel at the White House in September 2020.
The following month, Israel and Sudan announced the normalization of relations, and Morocco established diplomatic relations with Israel last December.
The UAE’s WAM added that bin Zayed, who was travelling with a high-level delegation, would stay for a few days.
