The passing of my beloved mother, Her Majesty the Queen, is the saddest time for me and all my family members.
We deeply mourn the passing of a precious monarch and a much-loved mother. I know that her loss will be deeply felt by the entire nation, the nations and the Commonwealth, and countless others around the world.
During this time of grief and change, my family and I will be comforted and supported by our extensive respect and affectionate understanding of the Queen.

The funeral plan was code-named “London Bridge”. Flags at the Royal Residence and other government buildings have been flown at half-staff. St Paul’s Cathedral Westminster Abbey will ring their bells at set times.
The state funeral is expected to take place in ten days. On Friday, September 9, the Queen’s coffin will be moved to Balmoral’s Ballroom, covered in a garland of flowers that changes daily. Her coffin will also be draped in Scottish royal standards.
There are also plans to fire a gun salute in Hyde Park, London, every 10 seconds for Elizabeth’s lifetime.according to protectorfuneral plans are subject to change at any time, but the Queen’s body is expected to be moved to Holyroodhouse, her residence in the Scottish capital Edinburgh, on Saturday, September 10.
The Queen’s children and grandchildren are expected to take part in a procession from Holyroodhouse to St Giles’ Cathedral in Edinburgh on Sunday 11 September. A ceremony will then take place in St Giles, where the Queen’s coffin will be laid for 24 hours. The public will be allowed to pay their respects.
On Monday, September 12, the Queen will leave St Giles’ Cathedral by car before taking the Royal Train to London. On Tuesday, September 13, the coffin will arrive at London’s St Pancras station, before a ride to Westminster. Millions of people are expected to line up the streets to pay their respects.
The coffin will be brought to Westminster Hall on Wednesday 14 September. After a brief service, Queen Elizabeth will spend five days under armed guard. Ten days after her death, the Queen will say goodbye at Westminster Abbey, attended by her family and heads of state from around the world. There will be a two-minute silence across the country during the service.
On the day of the funeral, starting at 10:35am (5:35am ET), the coffin will be lifted from the casket where it was laid and transported from Westminster Hall to the Royal Navy’s National Battery. From there, the coffins will be transported from the New Palace to Westminster Abbey.

As the parade is made up of the Scottish and Irish Regiments, the Gurkha Brigade and the Royal Air Force, the road will be made up of the Royal Navy and Royal Marines. The king, members of the royal family and family members of the monarch and the Prince of Wales will follow directly behind the coffin.
The ceremony will begin at 11:00am (6:00am ET) with the Rev. David Hoyle, Dean of Westminster. Prime Minister Liz Truss and Commonwealth Secretary Patricia Scotland will read lessons, while Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby will deliver a sermon.
The Last Post will ring before a two-minute silence as service ends around 11:55AM ET (6:55AM ET). The funeral will end with the Queen’s Piper, who will begin playing the wake-up call, national anthem and lamentation at noon (7am ET).
After the ceremony, the coffin will be transported from the hall to Wellington Arch, King Charles II will lead some members of the royal family on foot, Queen Camilla and others will follow by car, and finally leave London for Windsor.
St George’s Chapel destination within Windsor Castle will host a delivery ceremony hosted by the Dean of Windsor at 4pm (11am ET). Once the Crown Jewelers have removed the Imperial Crown, Orbs and Scepter following the ceremony, the Queen’s coffin will be placed in the Royal Vault below the chapel.
