Roger Waters Announces European Tour | Entertainment

[ad_1]

Roger Waters has announced new tour dates for 2023.

The former Pink Floyd frontman will begin his European ‘This is not a drill’ tour in Lisbon on March 17.

He will also visit Barcelona, Madrid, Milan and Krakow before wrapping up in Prague on May 24.

He is currently touring the United States, which was scheduled to begin in 2020, but was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

He has previously said: “This is not a drill is a groundbreaking new rock/movie extravaganza, in full swing. It’s a stunning indictment of the corporate dystopia we’re all trying to survive, and a call to action. The call to love, protect and share our precious and unstable Earth home.

“The show includes a dozen great songs from Pink Floyd’s golden age plus several new ones – word and music, same writer, same heart, same soul, same man. Probably his last hurrah .Wow! My first farewell tour! Don’t miss it. Love, R.

Meanwhile, Roger, 78, recently defended himself after calling President Joe Biden a “war criminal.”

The highly politicized rocker didn’t hold back when discussing his decision to include the 79-year-old world leader on the tour’s “War Criminal” slideshow.

The concert opened with a stern statement: “If you’re one of those ‘I love Pink Floyd, but I can’t stand Roger’s politics,’ you better go to a bar.”

Waters slammed Biden for “fueling Ukraine’s fire” as President Vladimir Putin’s Russia continues to invade the country.

He told CNN’s Michael Smerconish: “Well, he’s [Biden] First, adding fuel to the fire in Ukraine – a huge crime.

“Why the United States of America does not encourage [Volodymyr] Zelensky [Ukrainian] President, negotiate to eliminate the need for this terrible, terrible war… We don’t know how many Russians there are. “

Smerconish told Waters it was wrong to accuse the “invaded party”.

Waters, however, insisted that NATO and the United States caused the conflict.

He went on to say, “Well, any war, when did it start? What you need to do is look at the history, and then you can say, ‘It started on this day. “You could say it started in 2008 – the war was basically about NATO’s actions and responses to the [Mikhail] Gorbachev negotiated the withdrawal of the Soviet Union from all of Eastern Europe. “
