Emirates celebrates Oktoberfest with Bavarian food

Emirates will celebrate the German Oktoberfest by serving the beloved Bavarian food on flights to Munich, Hamburg, Düsseldorf and Frankfurt, as well as in their respective airport lounges, on September 17 and October 2.

Emirates serves an international customer base, celebrating many multicultural occasions on board, such as Diwali, Christmas and Chinese New Year. A special celebration of Oktoberfest will allow passengers to enjoy traditional German entrees and desserts in economy, business and first class, bistro snacks in the iconic onboard A380 lounge, and various menus in world-class airport lounges. A classic Oktoberfest dish.

Economy class passengers can enjoy roast chicken with paprika, served with a creamy mustard sauce, potato wedges and braised cabbage, followed by Bienenstich, a German speciality cream cake with almonds and honey, served with candied fruit. Business and first class passengers can enjoy braised calf shanks, roasted seasonal vegetables and more bread dumplings, while first class passengers can indulge in Dampfnudel for dessert – a traditional sweet bread with caramel on the bottom and soft top, drizzled Serve with vanilla sauce and whipped cream.

Delicious Oktoberfest sandwiches and snacks are served on board, including sweet mustard Leber sausage sandwiches, Emmental cheese and gherkin Austrian rolls, and the ultimate German savory snack – pretzel. Before landing, passengers will receive an individually wrapped heart-shaped gingerbread as a parting gift.

In airport lounges in Munich, Hamburg, Düsseldorf and Frankfurt; customers will be served a range of dishes, including veal Weisworth with parsley and mustard – a traditional Bavarian sausage. Guests can choose from obazda and pretzel (a cheese delicacy), or indulge in delicious chicken with parsley, classic potato salad and Käsepätzle (German version of macaroni and cheese, made with egg noodles and Emmental).

Emirates currently offers three daily flights from Dubai to Frankfurt, double daily flights to Munich, and daily flights to Dusseldorf and Hamburg. In response to the surge in passenger demand, the winter flight schedule will see increased flight operations on these routes planned from October 1. – arab trade news agency
