Abu Dhabi Digital Authority launches campaign to raise cybersecurity awareness

The Abu Dhabi Digital Authority (ADDA) has launched a cybersecurity awareness campaign in partnership with the Cybersecurity Council.

The event is one of several initiatives ADDA is undertaking as part of the pillars and objectives of the Abu Dhabi Government’s Cybersecurity Strategy to reduce cyberthreats and risks, promote a cybersecurity culture and serve as an effective means to spread cybersecurity awareness . Fight against cybercrime.

The campaign, launched last month, underscores the importance of involving all users of cyberspace in efforts to protect them from increasing digital threats and attacks.

In September, the campaign focused on the importance of protecting passwords to protect users in cyberspace.

In October, the campaign shifted its focus to data privacy and touted the importance of protecting personal data and avoiding sharing it with others to evade hacking, which could cause material, financial, personal or social harm to users.

The event, which ends in November, will focus on ways to avoid social engineering attacks, including a range of techniques used to trick users into taking certain steps or revealing confidential and personal information that could leave them vulnerable to hacking.

Dr. Mohamed Abdel Hamid Al Askar, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Digital Authority, noted that the campaign is an important part of Abu Dhabi’s cybersecurity strategy to create a secure digital environment based on global best practices. site.

Al Askar said: “This campaign is very important as it will allow us to spread the cyber security culture among Abu Dhabi government employees and the general public, and enhance their networks by promoting safe and correct cyber security practices both internally and externally. maturity. The work environment, and the importance of emphasizing their role in securing cyberspace.”

Al Blooki noted that authorities have prepared a toolkit containing leaflets, videos and promotional content to share with Abu Dhabi government employees, in addition to emails, wallpapers and email signature designs to ensure the campaign has a wide reach .
