Emirates News Agency – 21st edition of Ru’ya, redefining UAE careers, launched in Dubai

DUBAI, 20th September, 2022 (WAM) — Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Chairman of the Dubai-UAE Human Resources Development Council, and Abdullah Ali bin Zayed Al Falasi, Director-General, Human Resources, Dubai Government, opened today – expected to take place at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) ) Redefining the 21st edition of Ru’ya’s career in the UAE.

To provide diverse and rapidly growing employment opportunities for Emirati youth, the leading recruitment, skills development and networking forum for Emirati youth will continue until 22 September 2022.

The first day of the event took place at Sheikh Saeed Halls 1, 2 and 3, with thousands of job seekers connected to an elite mix of over 100 leading public and private sector organisations including Citibank, Al Futtaim Group, Diplomatic Ministry and International Cooperation, Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC), Dubai Investments and BMW.

The event’s agenda also includes a series of exclusive sessions for job seekers, including a series of workshops in partnership with LinkedIn to build a successful career, and a three-day immersive coding bootcamp – Top Coder in partnership with AstroLabs Digital Academy. A series of inspirational lectures on the theme of “Strength, Soul, Inspiration and Talent” were also held. These are in line with this year’s theme, “Become”, to inspire young Emiratis to be brave and follow their passions, turning them into careers.

Asma Alsharif, Vice President, Sustainability, Exhibitions, DWTC, said: “As the UAE government continues to invest in youth development and works to build a competitive knowledge economy, Ru’ya will play an important role in supporting this vision. This year’s Ru’ya ‘ya will be our best yet – a huge success on day one – and we’re delighted to be working with our exhibiting partners to advise and showcase a wealth of opportunities for thousands of young Emiratis. We want to equip them with the knowledge and skills they need to unlock their full potential and define their career path.”

Dr. Saleh Abdullah Al-Murad, Director General of Human Resources, Dubai Police noted: “We are committed to participating in all national events and exhibitions such as Ru’ya to attract UAE nationals and provide them with a great deal” which will Help them serve the country. This falls within the guidance of Dubai Police to enhance the safety and security of our community and ensure the well-being of our society. ”

Days 2 and 3 of the event will feature more interactive sessions and inspirational presentations under the ‘Be’ theme from talented and courageous Emirati youth who have created their own career paths, including Shaikha of Dubai Police VIP Protection Al Mazroui and Abdulrahman Al Mamari, professional skydivers. On the last day of Ru’ya, the winners of the “The Next You” startup competition will also be announced, as well as the winners of the “Upcycle & Design” sustainability competition and the “Top-coder” best video game competition.

Ru’ya, Careers Redefined 2022 offers a diverse mix of internship opportunities and professional roles in industries such as banking, energy, logistics, real estate, government, telecommunications and hospitality, and will support businesses and job seekers to strengthen their Emiratisation efforts in line with the UAE government’s strategy.
