[ad_1]

Dubai Green Planet, a rainforest with over 3,000 species of plants and animals in four indoor rainforest tiers, now showcases the Middle East’s first flying fox in the Eco Pavilion.

Highly social, with tawny fur that gleams in the sun, flying foxes are one of the largest bat species in the world capable of sustained flight. Calling it their new home to live with lemurs, sloths and parrots, these new residents will fly freely through the enclosed bio-pavilion.

Green lovers will interact and get up close and personal with these fascinating mammals. They will be able to click pictures with them and learn more about these super social people who are commonly known as the Malaysian flying fox.

These giant bats play an important role in keeping native forests healthy by spreading seeds and pollinating flowering plants, and have a wingspan of 1.8m or more. Flying foxes that reach the green planet have a wingspan of up to 1m and a weight of 1kg.

The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) recently assessed their species as almost threatened. The body length is 27-38 cm, and the average lifespan in the wild is 15 years. However, under human care, they can live up to 30 years.Green Planet’s conservation efforts will be part of an important global effort to protect this species

In addition to six unique areas featuring sloths, piranhas, tropical birds and reptiles, these aerial wonders will be part of a one-day experience at Green Planet Dubai. – arab trade news agency
