Overland Park’s $750 million Aspiria campus will add a new happy hour spot where corporate tenants and community members can check out after hours.
Occidental Management Inc. plans to add Andretti Indoor Karting & Games to a 103,430-square-foot building that will house 350-450 new employees.
In the same area, Occidental plans to build a 419-unit apartment building and four pickle fields between the Jewish Community Center parking lot in the northeast and future buildings on the southwest side of the former Sprint Corp. campus.
Andretti will develop the entertainment center and Lincoln Properties will build the condos. Both companies bought land from Occidental Petroleum in separate transactions.
The 430,000-square-foot market-rate apartment building is designed with an inverted “S” shape surrounding Andretti for future residents. The apartments will sit on the northern half of the 17-acre site, along Nall Avenue, between 115th and 117th Streets, east of the Jewish Community Center. Andretti’s location will occupy the southern half, on the corner of 117th and Nall.
“Most of their revenue comes from corporate users who want to do team-building activities, such as racing IndyCar, laser tag or bowling,” said Western President Chad Stafford.
“I think that building is there and having an entrance to Aspiria is key because it has good visibility to the 30+ corporate tenants on campus and surrounding tenants off campus, and it will be open to the surrounding community as well. “
