New York strikers name legendary Indian national cricket all-rounder Yuraji Singh as a mentor for their upcoming Abu Dhabi T10 league season starting in November.
Adjusted as a tournament player at the 2011 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup, Yuvraj officially retired from international cricket in June 2019. After retiring from international cricket, he played in a number of global franchise competitions. He also played in the Abu Dhabi T10 League for Marathi Arabs in 2019. Notably, the Marathi Arabs won the 2019 tournament by beating the Deccan Gladiators in the final.

Meanwhile, the newly formed New York Strikers franchise at T10 in Abu Dhabi was acquired by US-based Skky Strikers. The inclusion of New York Strikers in the Abu Dhabi T10 League makes it an 8-team tournament, with two teams from the United States joining the ranks.
Shaji-ul-Mulk, Chairman of T10 Sports Management, is delighted to see two new teams join the Abu Dhabi T10 League. He says:
“I am delighted to welcome the New York Strikers from the United States to our Abu Dhabi T10 family. Our goal is to make Abu Dhabi T10 one of the preeminent events on the international cricket calendar and increase our current reach 342 million global broadcast viewers.
“With the addition of two new teams from the United States, we will continue to build on the success of the Championship as cricket’s fastest form is developing rapidly. As we enter our sixth season starting 23 November , we look forward to working closely with Sagar Khanna and his team.”

The New York Strikers franchise is owned by Sagar Khanna, an avid fan of cricket.
“This is a very exciting time for our team as the Abu Dhabi T10 is unique and highly competitive, bringing together elite players from around the globe. It provides us with an opportunity to connect with the elite of cricket. Great opportunity to compete and test yourself,” Sagar said.
The team attracted Kieron Pollard as an icon and Eoin Morgan as a platinum player. In addition, Azam Khan and Paul Stirling joined the team as A-level players. Sagar said of the signing:
“Kieron Pollard and Eoin Morgan are some of the biggest names in white-ball cricket. Both are extremely dangerous players and we have no doubts that their leadership will be critical to the progress of our camp. Both Pollard and Morgan make opponents terrified, We like the idea.”
