New York [US]September 24 (ANI): Foreign Minister S Jaishankar on Friday participated in the Indo-CARICOM (Caribbean Community) ministerial meeting and exchanged views on health cooperation, digital linkages and capacity building.
Jaishankar tweeted: “Had a warm and friendly Indo-CARICOM ministerial meeting this afternoon. Discussed our development partnership, health cooperation, digital linkages and capacity building. Indo-CARICOM is South-South solidarity. real examples.”
The CARICOM group of developing countries is considered one of the most advanced regional institutions.
Barbados, Belize, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, Montserrat, Trinidad and Tobago, Suriname, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Antigua and Barbuda , the Bahamas, and Saint Kitts and Nevis to form CARICOM.

“Our meeting today reinforces our shared determination to make the voices of the global South heard in the World Council,” he added.
Jaishankar, who is on a 10-day visit to the US, interacted with his counterparts from Madagascar, Morocco and Spain on his fifth day in New York.
Jaishankar is in the United States for the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) meeting. He met Madagascar Foreign Minister Richard Landriamandrato.

“Had a great meeting with Spanish FM @jmalbares. Our bilateral cooperation has progressed since his visit to Delhi in June this year. Spain has been a reliable friend to strengthen the Indo-European partnership. We also discussed the Ukraine conflict and India Too tense,” Jaishankar tweeted.
Meanwhile, on the fourth day in New York, Jashankar interacted with the foreign ministers of three different countries and attended the BRICS Foreign Ministers’ Meeting to exchange views on the global situation, international economy and regional issues.
He met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Paraguay.
“Nice to meet again my dear friend Julio Cesar Arriola, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Paraguay. #UNGA is a great meeting place,” Jashankar tweeted.
In addition to this, the foreign minister also met with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Niku Popescu and Mexican Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard.
Jaishankar tweeted: “Great to meet DPM and FM @nicupopescuof Moldova. Thank you for his support during #OperationGanga. Thank you for his passion for expanding our relationship. Looking forward to seeing him in India soon.”
During a meeting with Mexico’s foreign minister, Jashankar and Ebrard discussed the conflict in Ukraine and the need for a cessation of hostilities. “India and Mexico are strong partners of the UN Security Council,” he tweeted. (ANI)
