NEW YORK – (Newswire.com) Verse Gaming, an innovative new platform that enables users to compete in peer-to-peer 2 peer-to-peer fantasy competitions in sports and entertainment, announced today that it has raised $585,000 in funding from private investors. Pre-seed financing with participation from Rally Cry Ventures. In addition to securing regulated access to the U.S. market, the funding round enables the startup to further develop its platform after a strong year of beta testing.
In addition to announcing its seed round, Verse today announced the launch of its long-awaited mobile app. Available to download in all 50 states, users across the country will be able to participate in free 2-player matches with predictions on player performance, fantasy points and season stats. In addition, paid-to-enter contests will be available in 22 markets.
A pioneer in social gaming, Verse provides players with a customizable toolkit for building, playing and managing real money contests with profiles reminiscent of their favorite social media apps. The user selects two or more player performance predictions during the match. Games can be public for all users to join, or restricted to private invite-only matches.
