Union Coop, the UAE’s leading retailer, has announced the completion of its new shopping centre project in Dubai’s Nad Al Hammar area. The retail destination has a gross floor area of 169,007 square feet and will open on September 29.
The 117,349 sq ft Nad Al Hammar Mall consists of two floors with 26 stores and three kiosks on the ground floor and 17 stores on the first floor, with a total commercial area of 21,331 sq ft, a statement from the United Cooperative said. .
The ground floor also contains a Union Coop hypermarket, occupying 42,943 square feet. In addition to the outdoor parking spaces available in the area, the mall contains 157 parking spaces.
Announcing the launch, Madiya Ahmad Al Marri, director of the investment department and engineer, said the new retail facility falls under the category of community malls.
She said the mall is known for its important location as it will serve the residents of Nad Al Hammar and its surrounding areas.

These include renowned international and local brands as well as pharmacies, restaurants, cafés, perfumeries, jewellery stores, health clinics, salons, fabric and robe tailors.
Harib Mohammed Binthani, director of operations at Union Coop, said the new mall will increase the proportion of the cooperative’s strategic merchandise and will include a new shopping model as it houses well-known international and local brands.
Mohammed Berregad Al Falasi, director of the administrative affairs department, said the work on the administrative offices and the setup of the internal warehouse equipment had been completed in record time.
Despite the timely work, Union Coop has not overlooked the urban architectural design aspect of the new mall – it adds architectural character to the area, characterized by a modern and distinctive façade, its stunning lighting and innovative design.
The mall also has a special nook for charities in space and donation boxes, like all United Police Centers.
