Beijing [China]3rd October (ANI): The Embassy of India in China celebrates Gandhi Jayanti at the Jintai Art Museum in Beijing on the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi’s 153rd birthday.

Mahatma Gandhi or Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was born on October 2, 1869 in the town of Porbandar, Gujarat, and fought nonviolently to stand at the forefront of the struggle for freedom against British colonial rule.

Globally, Gandhi’s birthday is celebrated as the International Day of Non-Violence. Several events were held in India and around the world to mark the occasion.

Prime Minister Modi paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on the 153rd birthday of Mahatma Gandhi, tweeting: “This Gandhi Jayanti is even more special because India is marked by Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
