Masdar City, Zero Carbon Ventures join forces to reduce carbon emissions

Masdar City is the only planned and approved innovative technology R&D cluster in Abu Dhabi, and Zero Carbon Ventures has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to drive carbon reduction in the Middle East.

The first project explored under the agreement, already underway in Masdar City, will involve the deployment of Zero Carbon Venture’s game-changing graphene technology to reduce maintenance requirements and lower energy consumption in critical buildings.

Ahmed Bagum, Executive Director of Masdar City, said: “Masdar City is committed to being a global hub and facilitator for international and regional organisations working on sustainable R&D and innovation. This partnership with Zero Carbon Ventures “This agreement underscores our commitment to advancing the development of low carbon solutions and further supports the UAE’s net zero goal. Masdar City is already home to more than 1,000 businesses, including organizations ranging from multinationals and SMEs to local start-ups, working to advance the sustainability agenda and lead innovation for greener, more sustainable urban living .

These include the International Renewable Energy Agency (Irena), the UAE Space Agency, Siemens, G42 Healthcare, the Advanced Technology Research Council (ATRC) and its two pillar entities, the Technology Innovation Institute (TII) and ASPIRE, Tabreed, Ho Nivel, and the world’s first university dedicated to artificial intelligence – the Mohammed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence – arab trade news agency
