Most UAE residents plan to travel within 12 months: study

A survey shows that the UAE leads the way in travel, with 93% planning to take a holiday in the next 12 months, with half (45%) of these trips coming before winter.

New research released by Marriott Bonvoy, Marriott International’s award-winning travel programme, finds that not only are many people in the UAE planning to go on holiday by February 2023, but seven in 10 (70%) of them are planning their Spending more on vacation than in previous years ensures this is an unforgettable trip.

Of those planning a vacation, more than three-quarters (75%) plan to tick off somewhere on their travel list for this vacation, and half (48%) are eager to visit new destinations they’ve never been to before.

A third (33%) of Emirati adults are missing out on discovering new places and cultures due to the pandemic, leading to one in five (20%) adults planning to travel more. Trips filled with excitement and exploration are at the top of the travel agenda, with nearly a third (31%) of Emiratis planning holidays that allow them to take on adventures (13%), such as skydiving and immersing themselves in local culture (10%) , or doing something experiential (8%) like attending an iconic sporting event.

In addition, two in five (40%) Emiratis miss out on a holiday with their loved ones, leading to more than half (55%) of travellers looking to travel with their family. What’s more, one in five (20%) say travel centered on spending time with people is now their top priority.
