Singapore lifted all differentiated vaccinations and virus spread control measures from October 10, returning to normal post-COVID lifestyles and no longer restricting dining, nightlife venues and events for more than 500 participants.
“We have learned to live with the COVID-19 virus, weathering several waves of infection and phasing out safe management measures,” the Ministry of Health (MOH) said in a press conference on Friday.
“As our daily activities return to normal, we will fully remove the differentiated safety management measures for vaccines from October 10, 2022,” it said.
Elaborating, the ministry said this means there will be no vaccine differentiation restrictions for events with more than 500 participants at any one time, nightlife venues where dancing among customers is one of the scheduled events, and dining at food and beverage establishments, including Hawker centre.

“(These measures) have served us well as we reopen safely,” the ministry said.
The DOH added that these measures help protect those who are not fully vaccinated and reduce their exposure to environments with a higher risk of transmission, thereby preventing the healthcare system from being overwhelmed when universal vaccination and infection rates are yet to come. However, the Ministry of Health said that even if these measures were lifted, people who were not fully vaccinated still faced a higher risk of serious illness.
“We urge these individuals to come forward and get vaccinated, or continue to take their own precautions and minimise social interaction to protect themselves,” it said.
