Etihad Airways, headquartered in Abu Dhabi, pointed out that for flights departing from India, only transit to Africa is allowed.
The national airline said that Dubai residents stranded abroad can now fly to Abu Dhabi by Etihad Airways.
“Yes, Dubai visa holders can land in Abu Dhabi,” an Etihad Airways spokesperson said. On Saturday, Air India stated in a notice to travel agencies that passengers must only land in the emirate where they live. An Air India spokesperson emphasized that these updates are based on guidelines issued by the UAE Civil Aviation Authority.
From Tuesday, Etihad will operate in New Delhi, Chennai, Kochi, Bangalore, Trivandrum, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad and Mumbai.
In addition, Etihad Airways pointed out that for flights departing from India, only transit to Africa is allowed.
“Due to restrictions by the Indian authorities, passengers can only transit to destinations in Africa until further notice.”
Etihad helped say that before flying, fully vaccinated passengers must undergo PCR testing and rapid PCR testing, which is available at all airports in India. In addition, children under the age of 12 do not need PCR testing when travelling to Abu Dhabi.
Certain categories of unvaccinated people eligible to return include medical staff, teachers in the UAE, students, extenuable residents, patients receiving treatment in the UAE, and employees working for federal or local government agencies.
Diplomats, UAE nationals and golden visa holders can also travel.
In addition to national and golden visa holders, others need to be approved through the Federal Identity and Citizenship Agency website.
“Once you get the green tick approval status from the ICA portal, no further action is required.”
After arriving in Abu Dhabi, passengers will undergo a 12-day quarantine.
“When you arrive in Abu Dhabi, you will be required to be quarantined for 12 days and wear a medically approved wristband during the quarantine-this will be provided by the Abu Dhabi airport authorities after you pass through the immigration. You must also arrive The PCR test will be performed at time, 6th and 11th days.”
