Brunch of the month: Mimi Kakushi

Is this the Japanese brunch of your dreams?

As we all know, we are fans of Mimi Kakushi, this elegant 20s style Japanese restaurant is located in the restaurant village of the Four Seasons Resort Dubai. We are full of praise for its decoration, service and unique dishes, so we are happy with the launch of the weekend brunch. Unsurprisingly, this is a stylish and sophisticated event for Friday brunch, from 1pm to 4pm (the same deal is also available on Saturdays).

After using spicy pickled yuzu white radish and steaming edamame with Malden sea salt to arouse our appetite, the cold appetizer arrived. The sushi and maki roll platters are good but not groundbreaking. Even more exciting is the salmon tataki plate, which provides an explosive flavor with the help of jalapenos and crispy onions. At the same time, beef tataki with plenty of truffle oranges undoubtedly enhances the quality of this dish.

We are very happy to see black cod and shrimp dumplings become part of the hot dishes. These delicate little packages are some of the best items on the a la carte menu, still the most popular, exuding umami. However, the yakitori and kushi Angus beef skewers left a deep impression on us, which was a bit too much.

On the power source, the miso black cod is a tender, flaky white fish with a subtle Asian spiciness. Salmon is also delicious with delicious green chili sauce, but next time we will choose meat dishes, such as grilled Angus fillets, to add variety.

If you are looking for a “party party” brunch, this is not it. However, this is the perfect place for a leisurely lunch. The price of the in-house drink package is AED 490, which includes wine, beer and a selection of signature cocktails.
