The Sharjah Airports Authority (SAA) will showcase cutting-edge technologies implemented in passenger services at the Gitex Global Sharjah Government Pavilion at the Dubai World Trade Centre from 10 to 14 October.
The smart technology that has been implemented in all its passenger operations provides enhanced service, greater efficiency and virtual communication with airport staff, enhancing the passenger experience at Sharjah International Airport.
Sheikh Saud bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of Gitex Global Sharjah Government Pavilion High Committee and Head of Sharjah Digital Office, welcomed Ali Salim Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Airport Authority, at the pavilion today (11 October).
Ali Salim Al Midfa said: “Gitex Global is an ideal platform to evaluate contemporary innovations and practices brought about by the digital revolution. We will use this opportunity to showcase the latest services and technologies implemented by the Sharjah Airport Authority in its operations to improve overall clientele satisfaction and solidify its position as one of the leading airports in the region.”
“The Authority has participated in Gitex Global as an entity of the Government of Sharjah. Through this participation, we intend to engage with local and international public sector players and demonstrate its implementation to increase efficiency and effectively manage time in day-to-day operations The Authority recognises the importance of implementing innovative technologies and smart services as they help to meet the needs of travellers and customers and to develop the best innovative environment possible to develop staff skills and expertise,” added Al Midfa .
Smart information desks at the airport use state-of-the-art technology to allow travelers to communicate virtually with customer service staff, including navigating the airport, accessing airport services for those with reduced mobility, and video calling sign language support from staff. Self-service kiosks provide travelers with end-to-end services from self-service check-in to bag drop, passport and boarding pass verification.
Digitalisation and the adoption of innovative technologies have provided better service for passengers at Sharjah International Airport, making it one of the leading airports in the Middle East and the world.
The Sharjah Airport Authority is one of 10 Sharjah government entities participating in Gitex Global.
The Sharjah Government’s pavilion at the Arena Hall today hosted a seminar by leading technology professionals and international companies.
Mohamed Salama, Senior Partner at Unity Technologies, talks about the benefits of Web 3.0 and the paradigm shift of the Internet. Hani Khalaf, CTO, IoT and Digital Cities META, Dell Technologies, discusses the journey of digital citizens in future cities and the technologies that will make them smarter. Nitin Joshi, Senior Strategy and Marketing Expert, Huawei Digital Energy, discusses the topic of energy digitization for a smart and sustainable future.
