The governments of Egypt and the United Arab Emirates began on Wednesday to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Egypt and the United Arab Emirates with the theme “Egypt and the United Arab Emirates… One Heart”. The two countries aim to further strengthen a relationship that has been strong for more than five centuries.
The events were sponsored by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouli will speak on the reality and future of relations between the two peoples, Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit will discuss Arab-Arab relations based on the Egypt-UAE model, while Mohammed Al – UAE Minister of Cabinet Affairs Jajawi will speak on Egypt’s relationship with the UAE and Egypt’s historical importance.
Mohammad Al Gergawi, UAE Minister of Cabinet Affairs, stressed that the “Egypt and UAE… One Heart” campaign reflects the strength of Egypt-UAE relations and is a qualitative step towards strengthening cooperation in various fields based on the enthusiasm of both parties. Egyptian and UAE leaders accelerated and expanded their cooperation to include various key sectors.
Al Gergawi noted: “The agenda of the meeting includes an opening address by President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, with the participation of His Excellency the Prime Minister of Egypt and the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, in addition to presentations on the success stories of many Egyptian-Emirati companies, and Tribute to the UAE’s first Egyptian media professionals, intellectuals and athletes.”
He added: “Government ministers from Egypt and the UAE, as well as officials from the economy, culture, media and private sectors, held more than 20 meetings to celebrate 5 years of outstanding relationship and elevate it to a broader and more comprehensive view. “
Regarding the purpose of the event and the importance of its holding, Al Gergawi said that the “Egypt and the UAE… One Heart” event brought together a group of ministers, officials, businessmen and policy makers to develop new ways and prospects in the economy, investment , trade, media, culture and other fields to cooperate in order to meet the requirements of the current stage, there are many variables, and it is necessary to further develop cooperation methods and mechanisms.
