Liam Gallagher is no longer performing at Club Social, the Abu Dhabi Beach Festival.
Gallagher, best known as the lead singer of rock band Oasis, was the headliner for the second day of the three-day festival, which began on Yas Island on Friday. He was also set to headline the 2020 festival, which was canceled due to the pandemic.
Organizers said the cancellation was due to the singer’s “health complications.”They announced Example as his replacement, known for hits such as stay awake, child again and start up.
Those who have purchased Gallagher tickets and weekend passes can still attend the rescheduled concert, but those wishing to receive a refund can contact the booking agency.
The rest of the festival schedule remains the same.
British indie band Kaiser Chiefs will start on day one with hits including I predict riots, I love you less and less every day and ruby.
It was followed by DJs from electro-pop group Clean Bandit, whose hits included rock, rather and symphonyand with Sean Paul, Jess Glynne and Anne Marie.
On Saturday, Example will hit the stage at 10pm, with DJ Pinkfish ahead of him.
On the final day of the festival, local talent from the UAE will take to the stage to compete in a battle of bands. The day will provide a platform for emerging artists in the country and allow festival-goers to discover new music.
Club Social returns to Yas Links for the first time since 2019. The event is organised by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, Miral and Live Nation.
