The judges have spoken – and the winner is…

Crested Butte’s Matchstick Productions took home three IF3 2022 Film Awards Saturday at the awards gala at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler in Whistler, British Columbia, Canada.The production company that just turned 30 won best skier of the year: Dennis Ranalt, Outstanding Female Skier of the Year: Tonje Kvivik, Duck film of the year: “from here to anywhere”.

Steve Winter, co-founder of Crested Butte Matchstick Productions. Matchstick will celebrate 30 years of making ski and outdoor movies in 2022.




“It’s a pleasure to share another Film of the Year award with our team,” said Matchstick founder Steve Winter. “The crew here do whatever it takes. They shoot, direct, produce, raise money, take out the trash… whatever it takes, it’s a team effort.”

Winter said he was delighted that the energetic audience supporting the screenings was an important part of the MSP family.

“It’s an amazing feeling to launch a film and share it with an excited group of people,” he said.
