Jason Momoa brings back a wild boar he encountered on the set of ‘Slumberland’.
The 43-year-old actor adopted the adorable animal and joked that he might be taking his new pet to the premiere of the upcoming Netflix movie based on the comic strip “Nicky of Slumberland” Mo, and follows the titular character – by Marlow Barkley – and the stuffed pig he brings to life at night.
Sharing two videos of himself with the pigs on Instagram, Jason wrote: “That’s why I can’t work with animals. I want to bring them home. As wild and savage as his pop. “
The Hawaiian star joked that he couldn’t decide whether to name the pig Lau Lau or Manapua, both of which refer to two popular dishes in his hometown.
According to Food Network, Lau Lau is pork with pomfret wrapped in taro leaves, while Manapua is a steamed beef bun.
In one of the videos, the “Game of Thrones” actor says, “Would you like to come to the premiere of Slumberland? We can paint your nails pink and put a top hat on you.”
Backstage, his mother can be heard responding: “I think it’s a bit over the top because you just got him.”
But Jason pointed out, “Well, Mom, I’m going a little too far.”
Jason, a well-known animal lover, revealed in a 2019 interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that he has a donkey, two half-wolves, a ball python and a dog.
Back in September, Jason shaved off his long hair to raise awareness of the single-use plastic crisis.
He said at the time: “I’m sick of these plastic bottles. We have to stop [using] Plastic forks, all ***. It goes into our lands, it goes into our oceans. “
Momoa also urged people to start using reusable water bottles instead of plastic ones.
He added: “This is so sad, so please help me by doing everything you can to eliminate single-use plastic from your life.”
