Stylish Japanese concept Otoro opened in Abu Dhabi’s Al Qana district in April, making waves in the city with its ‘less is more’ approach to fine dining. Products come directly from various prefectures in Japan, wagyu beef from Kagoshima, big tuna from Tokyo and sea urchin from Hokkaido.High-quality ingredients taken center Stage on the Otoro menu: Signature dishes include a hand-rolled duo, one with tuna and truffle, the other with wagyu beef and caviar.

BB Social Dining

The second standalone branch of BB Social Dining, launched in Dubai’s DIFC district five years ago, will soon open at Rosewood Abu Dhabi. True to its original concept, with European and Asian influences, the new BB Social Dining by Chef and Co-Founder Alexander Stumpf will introduce Abu Dhabi diners to its signature snacks, buns, bowls and grilled snacks.
The restaurant is taking its ethos seriously – in the words of co-founder Spero Panagakis: “There is nothing we are more proud of than sourcing local tomatoes and cucumbers from our bio farm and developing our menu, while Before this, it simply didn’t exist. Farm-to-fork is just the beginning for all to come to the UAE, because the simplicity of sustainability is not only a belief, but a constant pursuit for a better tomorrow.”

Guida spends time between Seta, the two Michelin-starred restaurant at the Mandarin Oriental, Milan, and this latest concept, curating a range of seasonal, authentic Italian dishes in elegant surroundings and a vibrant open kitchen.
The menu draws on Guida’s unique cooking style to provide a fresh and innovative experience home kitchen, or home cooking, from handmade ravioli, Spaghetti Bacon Egg Noodles and artisanal pizza ossobuko and Veal with tuna sauce. The restaurant’s interior is decorated with artwork inspired by the Italian landscape – ports, palaces, lakes and Roman ruins. Let’s is open all day and serves a fusion of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern dishes. The space is home to a bakery, while the open kitchen showcases a traditional clay oven and a glass case showcases homemade pastries and desserts. Menu highlights include Let’s Balaleet, burrata za’atar flatbread, musakhan Pizza, tart aseeda and faloda milk cake. An olive tree takes centre stage in the 55-seat restaurant’s main dining area, creating a sense of calm in this serene setting away from the city.

Em Sherif Sea Cafe

Em Sherif Sea Café debuted in the UAE in October, with waterfront views from the Rosewood Hotel on Al Maryah Island in Abu Dhabi. This is the latest development of Mireille Hayek’s seafood-focused Levantine concept, which pays homage to Lebanon’s historical ties to the Mediterranean and was first established in Beirut in 2011.
Menu highlights include an extensive selection of mezze, raw red sea bream, shrimp de Provence and samak rass asfour, as well as vegetarian options such as tahini roasted cauliflower, hindbeh bil zeit and lentil kibbeh. From a la carte restaurants to coffee, shisha and late-night snacks, Em Sherif Sea Café is both a place to socialize and a place to eat. Em Sherif Sea Café Riyadh currently has branches in Manama and Abu Dhabi and will follow suit by the end of this year.
