[ad_1]

Turn the wheel and find out what to do this weekend…

Wheel after wheel, where does it stop is our concern, will you be tackling something new, or is it one of your favorite things to do? Where it stops is out of our control, but each option should still speak to your soul. Spin hard or spin lightly and you get what it’s meant to be…

Friday 11 November

a moment

We really don’t need an excuse to spend our weekends now, but if it comes up – double yalla. This weekend, Abu Dhabi Moment will take place at Khalifa Square, a wholesome festival for families with 60 attractions, shows, crafts and shows for all ages. You can take part in organized fun activities such as musical performances from Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin; Bubble, Balloon and Magic Shows, K9 Dogs Shows, Mini Farms for Kids, Pottery Making, Art Shows, Community Painting, Baristas, home garden workshops and traditional handicrafts on display.

Khalifa Square, Khalifa, Friday 11th November to Sunday 13th November, 4pm to 11pm daily. @theadmoments

Knights of the Republic

OneRepublic is built on a platform full of poetic lyrics, musical technique, catchy hooks, instrumental mastery, flawless vocals, and a backing catalogue of unmistakable long national anthems — stadium rock gear, OneRepublic is the go-to for this amplification festival Perfect for headlines. We can’t wait to hear their huge hit apologies, and if I lose myself, count the stars, I’m not worried about pumping out of the “wall of sound” style speakers.

tokyo frugal

If you haven’t tried pizza at Japanese street food phenomenon Akiba Dori, *shake your head*. Look, we’re not mad, we’re just disappointed, but there’s good news – the neon waterfront hangout at Yas Bay has just launched an incredible and very generous new Friday deal. The pizza party is a carb carnival that really needs some toppings (thank you we’re here all week) and we’re putting it there – probably Yas Bay “first class” new date night. Choose from two signature Tokyo-style Neapolitan pizzas, plus a salad and two hours of ready-to-drink house wine for AED 179 for two. Mama mia san *Japanese-Italian gestures*.

stars under the starry sky

Park Cinema is back at Umm Aymarat Park – between now and the sweaty season back, with a selection of free-to-view movies on weekends every weekend (though you’ll need to pay a Dh10 entry fee). This weekend’s lineup (Friday, November 11 and Saturday, November 12) includes Pixar’s spartan tale of a young clownfish, risking many of the joys of the deep to return to his father, Finding Nemo (Friday); and then there’s the low-key Amazon parrot saga with Stockholm Syndrome on Saturday Rio 2.

You’ll see screenings at 6.30pm and 8.30pm – popcorn can be purchased on site. Mushrif area, entry to the park costs Dhs10 per person. Located in Umm Al Emarat Park, ummalemaratpark.ae

Now open at The Galleria, Barry’s is on a mission to make you look like a mix. Claiming to be “the best workout in the world” — there’s some muscle behind that claim. HIIT classes take place in their famous Red Room (with a low-red rave vibe to keep everyone looking good) and can burn up to 1,000 calories in a single session. Here, your workouts are separated by intermittent switching between floor work and treadmill beasts, allowing for a total body adjustment.

go green

If you’re looking for greenery, Al Ain aka “Garden City” is a good place to start. This 1,200-hectare desert oasis in central Al Ain received UNESCO World Heritage status in 2011. It has more than 147,000 date palms, mangoes, oranges, bananas, figs and date trees. Oddly shaded paths under fractal canopies contrast with the cityscape of Abu Dhabi’s urban jungle. There’s also an eco-centre that provides insight into the conservation efforts of the oasis and a look back at its history.
