Big TV hit”walking dead” will wrap up its historic run on AMC this Sunday, but the finale doesn’t mark the end of the franchise.
The Zombie Pleasure brand has a ton of current and upcoming expansions from the production company that birthed it, Skyline Entertainment. CEO david alpertCo-founded the company with show creator Robert Kirkman, who plans to make The Walking Dead for years to come.

“We think there’s an opportunity to tell stories in this space for the rest of our natural lives,” Alpert said on the latest episode of the show. type podcast”strictly businessThe interview was conducted at the Future of Television Summit earlier this month, before lawsuit filed earlier this week by Alpert and other producers seeking profit from franchising.
There are already three “Walking Dead” spinoff series and three more in the works, as well as brand extensions ranging from video games to wine. But as big as the shadow of the franchise is, there are plenty of other intellectual properties thriving at Skybound, including the Prime Video series “Invincible,” the Audible audiobook series “Impact Winter,” and the upcoming drama “Renfield,” starring Nicolas Cage.
Like The Walking Dead, which was originally conceived by Kirkman as a comic book before making the jump to television, Skybound’s other IP was created without any particular medium in mind. “I would say that, historically, production houses have been oriented toward one kind of distribution,” Alpert said. “The TV they make can be on cable or broadcast. The movies they make are going to be in theaters, or they’re streaming now. But our organization is built around IP and connecting creators with every business they want to run. Connecting audiences in every area of media. I think that’s what sets us apart.”
got another round of financing In May, Skybound entered growth mode, building out its capabilities in animation, audio and video game publishing. The company is also seeking investment from non-traditional sources, including Kickstarter, and awaiting approval for crowdfunding equity financing in partnership with Republic, which will give fans of the Skybound IP the chance to own a piece of the business.
