Dove Cameron, the former Disney Channel actress who hit the Billboard charts this year with her hit single “Boyfriend,” won her first trophy of the night as Best New Artist. Machine Gun Kelly, wearing a purple outfit with silver spikes, was voted favorite rock artist.
