Emirates News Agency – UAE presents 51 Ghaf trees to African partners to mark 51st anniversary of ties

ABU DHABI, 5th December, 2022 (WAM) — To celebrate 51 years of ties with African countries based on mutual respect and mutual benefit, the UAE presented 51 Gaff trees to African partners as a sign of cooperation and strengthening A passion for connection.

Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State, said: “The late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan believed that the Ghaf tree represented an important source of life, unity and brotherhood, under which members of society gathered. To advance Sheikh Zayed’s vision, the UAE This initiative was launched with African countries to celebrate the 51st anniversary of the UAE-Africa relationship.”

In its fruitful partnership with Africa over the next 50 years, the UAE is determined to support prosperity And contribute to a common effort to promote sustainable development and environmental responsibility. Through its international partnerships, the UAE is working with other countries to tackle climate change and protect natural assets to ensure their future use,” he added.

Furthermore, Sheikh Shakhboot noted that planting the Ghaf tree represents the UAE’s investment in future generations and commitment to the African continent.

The UAE Mission in Côte d’Ivoire held a commemorative ceremony. Candia Camara, Minister of State, Foreign Affairs, African Integration and Diaspora Affairs of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire, applauded this important initiative and underscored Côte d’Ivoire’s desire to strengthen bilateral relations for the benefit of both countries and peoples.

The UAE delegation to the Kingdom of Eswatini celebrated in the presence of Minister of Agriculture Jabulani Clement Mabuza, who said: “The Kingdom of Eswatini There is a good relationship and fruitful cooperation with the UAE in various fields. I would like to join the UAE in celebrating the 51st anniversary of the relationship between the UAE and Africa.”

Furthermore, Minister Mabuza emphasized the importance of this initiative as an investment in the future welfare of the Eswatini Kingdom.
