New Delhi [India]Dec 7 (ANI): A Zimbabwean parliamentary delegation led by Speaker of Parliament Jacob Francis Nzwidamilimo Mudenda visited President Drew at the Presidential Palace on Wednesday Droupadi Murmu.

The President welcomed the team to Rashtrapati Bhavan, noting the long history of ties between India and Zimbabwe. A press release from the Presidential Secretariat of Zimbabwe stated that the approximately 9,000 people of Indian origin living in Zimbabwe are an important link between our two peoples.

The President was pleased to learn that business relations between India and Zimbabwe are going well. Trade between India and Zimbabwe is estimated at US$ 200 million. Indian companies have invested about $500 million in Zimbabwe.

India extended five lines of credit to Zimbabwe and set up a vocational training centre. She was also pleased to note that ITEC and ICCR scholarships from India are very popular among Zimbabweans. We should do more to strengthen bilateral cooperation, she said.
