ManageEngine, the enterprise IT management arm of Zoho Corporation, announces its results IT at work: 2022 and beyond study.
This newly released data, involving IT decision makers (ITDMs) and business decision makers (BDMs), examines the democratization of IT and the ability of IT teams to influence business decisions in large and enterprise-level organizations in the UAE.
According to the study, there has been an increase in collaboration between IT and other teams within organizations, which may help non-IT employees now have more IT knowledge than they did before 2020. IT structures within organizations are increasingly decentralized, with non-IT departments now enjoying autonomy in technology decisions.
However, any fears of a diminished role for IT teams were dispelled, as research has found that they play a key role in building tomorrow’s businesses. Some 76 percent of ITDMs expect IT to play a larger role in shaping the organization’s overall strategy in the next 5 years. This is 11% higher than the global average.
The success of the IT team in its role has a significant impact on the success of the organization, with more than 91 percent of respondents citing a direct correlation between the two. Additionally, IT professionals are increasingly expected to be innovators, with more than nine in 10 (91%) respondents agreeing that IT is more responsible than ever for business innovation.
