More than 1,800 students from 55 schools participated in the 16th annual Medicine, Arts and Sciences Exhibition (MASE) High School Competition.

In the competition organized by Gulf Medical University (GMU), students divided some 641 exhibits into six categories – projects, posters, drawings, music, poetry and business ideas – to compete for cash prizes worth Dh30,000

In the mixed competition, Year 10, 11 and 12 students from across the country presented live projects and posters, while they also competed online in the remaining four categories (Drawing, Poetry, Music and Business Ideas). The competition is judged by a jury of leading doctors, professors and medical science professionals. In addition to online voting for the Audience Choice Awards, three winners were announced for each of the six categories.

The new category Business Ideas aims to foster new ideas and invites students in the healthcare field to come up with business proposals. All participants receive a free certificate program from the School of Healthcare Administration and Economics.

GMU President Professor Hossam Hamdy said: Every year GMU’s MASE inspires the creative talents of young scientists and instils interest in careers in medicine and science. It provides students with a platform to blend artistic and scientific thinking. “

Of the 641 entries received, Rajaram from Ajman Habitat School (Grade 10), Fiza Attique (Grade 11) from Ajman Indian International School and Krishnan Aruldas from Ajman Habitat School ( 12th grade) for first place in project production and a cash prize for their work. Likewise, Zinan Shameel from Al Amana Private School (Year 10), Sharjah, Fauqia Fatima from New India Modeling School (Year 11) and Diya Fatima from New India Modeling School (Year 12) in Sharjah won the poster making contest. number one.

Meanwhile, Shiv Nandha (Year 10) from Our Own English High School, Sharjah, Abigail James (Year 11) from Our Own English High School Sharjah and Raghad Jahan (Year 12) from The Model School Abudhabi won the drawing First place in the competition. Finally, Saron Satheesh (Year 10) from Our Own English High School Sharjah, Mathew Kurian (Year 11) from Emirate National School Abu Dhabi (Year 11) and Anakha Prem (Year 12) from Habitat School Ajman with their music The skill wowed the judges and secured the first place. The other three winners of the poetry competition were Syeda Afsheen (Year 10) from Our Own English High School, Sharjah, Aysha Nazir (Year 11) from Dubai Central School and Clare Francisca (Year 12) from Ajman Global Indian School ). For the Business Creativity section, Affan Shiji (Year 10) from Al Amana Private School, Mayur Parthiv (Year 11) from Gems Millennium School, Sharjah and Zahra Ali (Year 12) from Westminster School Dubai took first place.

MASE received 125 drawings, 145 poems, 12 pieces of music, and 71 business ideas for the online competition, which consisted of 4 categories for students in grades 10, 11, and 12. Approximately 284,290 people visited the MASE competition page and approximately 895 students participated in 4 online categories.

Furthermore, some 147 projects and 140 posters were submitted by 900 students from 35 different schools in the UAE in the live competition. A total of 55 schools participated in this year’s competition.
