Eid al Adha: UAE mosques can host special prayer events-News

[ad_1]

Worshipers need to strictly abide by the Covid-19 security measures currently implemented by the mosque.

The UAE authorities announced that mosques and open spaces (musallahs) can hold special prayers for the Eid al-Adha.

The National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Agency (NCEMA) said on Tuesday night that the total duration of prayer, including sermons, was limited to 15 minutes.

Worshipers need to strictly abide by the Covid-19 security measures currently implemented by the mosque.

The mosque and musallahs will be open 15 minutes before prayers and will be closed immediately after prayers. The traditional practice of shaking hands and hugging after prayer is prohibited. Worshipers are not allowed to gather in places of worship before or after worship.

Floor stickers used to guide social distancing will be placed in the mosque, its outer courtyard and nearby areas.

It is recommended for people under 12 and over 60 to pray at home. Individuals who are Covid positive and close contacts are strictly prohibited from participating in prayer.

Pray in the congregation on the first day of Eid al-Adha (July 20).

During Eid al-Fitr in May this year, Muslims were allowed to pray in mosques.

During the two Eid al-Fitr days before this, as a Covid-19 safety measure, believers were asked to pray at home.

From July 19 (Arafat’s Festival) to July 22, UAE residents will enjoy four days of paid vacation during the Eid al-Adha. If Friday, Saturday and weekends are included, residents will enjoy a six-day holiday this Hari Raya.
