Wyndham Continues Growth in Middle East and Europe

Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, the world’s largest hotel franchise company with approximately 9,100 hotels in more than 95 countries, continues its growth trajectory in Europe, the Middle East, Eurasia and Africa (EMEA), where Owns more than 550 hotels.

The group said the expansion was being achieved through a number of key openings this year and a strong portfolio of real estate projects expected to launch in the coming months.

In the Middle East, Wyndham continues to bring more accommodation options to Dubai with the launch of Wyndham Residences on Palm Jumeirah, one of Dubai’s most sought-after landmarks. In the first half of 2022, driven by Expo 2020 Dubai and supported by Wyndham’s opening of football in Qatar, the largest sporting event, the total number of guests in the entire UAE hotel industry increased by 42% year-on-year to 12 million with 278 rooms rooms at the Wyndham Grand Doha West Bay Beach beachfront hotel, and the Ramada by Wyndham Doha Old Town.

In the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), Wyndham strengthened its presence with the opening of the 189-room Ramada by Wyndham on King Fahd Road in Riyadh, with easy access to the capital’s corporate and business districts, a range of F&B outlets, swimming pools, There is an indoor sauna, banquet facilities and a business center with multi-functional meeting rooms. The latest opening is the company’s 13th hotel in Saudi Arabia.

In Turkey, Wyndham strengthened its position as the largest international hotel company by number of properties with 10 new properties, including a central location in Istanbul, the debut of the Wyndham Garden brand on the Antalya Riviera, and More hotels in Ordu, Samsun, Rize, Mersin and Erzurum.

In Europe, Wyndham expanded its footprint in Germany, one of Wyndham’s largest European markets with more than 130 hotels, in addition to expanding its Trademark Collection brand with two hotels in Dusseldorf.

Earlier this year, Wyndham entered Poland for the first time by launching the upscale Wyndham brand in the historic city of Wroclaw. The company said the acquisition of the Vienna House brand accelerated its rapid expansion in Central Europe, becoming Wyndham’s 23rd brand, which added about 40 new upscale and midscale hotels in the region.

Wyndham’s expansion in Europe includes the debut of some of its iconic brands in additional countries, including stylish TRYP by Wyndham Corfu Dassia (Greece), Wyndham Garden in Florence (Italy) and a new trademark collection in Porto (Portugal). The Ramada by Wyndham brand has also opened a number of new hotels in destinations such as Slatina (Romania) and Murcia (Spain).

In India, the company surpassed its 50th hotel count and opened new properties in culturally rich destinations such as Ramada Gangtok Gold Casino Hotel, Ramada Hotel and Encore by Wyndham Siliguri Sewok Road hotel. The overall hospitality sector continues to drive strong leisure demand in India in 2022, with business travel picking up steadily in the second half of 2022.

Other EMEA highlights include continued momentum in Georgia, the launch of Chambers Tbilisi and Grigoretti Beach Resort, both part of Wyndham’s trademark collection, and the launch of the The opening of the Ramada by Wyndham Bliss – a 125-room hotel in the heart of the capital city – joins further growth in Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan.

Some of the new hotels expected to open in the coming months include:

• Newly opened in Turkey, with four hotels in Istanbul alone, including Days Inn by Wyndham Esenyurt Istanbul, and expanding further in Anatolia with the addition of a hotel in Konya.

• New addition to the family of logos for Athens (Greece), Mainz (Germany) and the ski resort Razlog (Bulgaria).

• The 212-room Wyndham Hotel is located in Bukhara, one of Uzbekistan’s oldest and most culturally rich cities.

In 2022, Wyndham launched several new initiatives to support the demand for its hotel network, including the global expansion of the Meetings Collection, a carefully curated collection of desirable hotels and resorts in sought-after meeting destinations, allowing Meetings made simple, easy and beneficial for planners organizing multiple, multi-year meetings. The company also launched Road Trip Planner, the latest digital innovation to its award-winning mobile app, giving travelers a new interactive booking tool to plan their next trip in minutes. –trade arab news agency
