People-to-people ties make UAE-India ties special: Reem Al Hashimy

[ad_1]

“It’s hard to pinpoint what makes this relationship special. I think it’s a combination of factors over the centuries, and I do believe that the consistency of our relationships really makes all the difference. India is familiar, and Indians are familiar in the UAE. There is a synergy between the way we see the world and our hopes for the world and ourselves. And I believe that as we continue to develop this relationship, we will develop and Unlocking more than what we already have.”

Hashemi noted that bilateral trade has grown by more than 30 percent in just eight or nine months since the signing of CEPA, which highlights all areas where the two countries have traditionally not cooperated.

“Traditionally, we don’t go to areas like telehealth, science technology, agtech, and arts and culture that emphasize that more can be done. I go back to how it started, which is the human connection , the stronger the hallway … I think the agreement is stronger because nothing on paper is as powerful as actually being in an interaction and a human experience,” she said.
