Afshin Esmaeil Ghaderzadeh has broken the record for the world’s shortest person at 65.24 cm (verified by Guinness World Records (GWR)). He only weighs 6kg. GWR officials made the announcement at an event at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Media City.
Afshin was born in a remote village in Bukan County, West Azerbaijan Province, Iran, and his life was difficult. He was unable to attend school and struggled with education. “He needs care and (needs) to be monitored 24/7,” said his father, Esmaeil.
Afshin is popular in his hometown and makes friends every time he travels. “People love to chat with me and take selfies with me,” he said.
This football fan can’t stop talking about the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. Despite being a die-hard Messi fan, he believes France will win. “My favorite players are Ronaldo, Aliday and Messi. From the way France played, it was clear they would lift the trophy,” he said.
