Etihad Airways’ travel advice for Eid al-Fitr holiday

As Etihad’s newest destinations-Mykonos and Santorini in the Greek Islands and Malaga in Spain-opened last week, and travel restrictions around the world continue to relax, Etiha German Airlines and Abu Dhabi International Airport are ready to welcome a large number of passengers from all over. Eid Mubarak holiday.

Airlines have provided travel tips to make the journey as convenient and smooth as possible.

  1. Check destination requirements. Due to frequent changes in travel restrictions, Etihad recommends visiting etihad.com/destinationguide for the latest updates before starting the journey.
  2. Verify flight? Visit “Manage My Booking” on etihad.com to share travel documents related to COVID. The approval will be shared via email to assure passengers that all necessary documents are in place and allow quick airport check-in procedures at the “Verify Flight” counter.
  3. Check in online and arrive early. During peak hours, economy class check-in for non-US flights opens 4 hours before departure and closes 1 hour before departure. Check-in in Business Class and First Class is closed 45 minutes before departure. For U.S. flights, check-in is closed two hours before flight departure. Boarding on all Etihad Airways flights is closed 20 minutes before departure. Or, enjoy Etihad’s door-to-door check-in service.
  4. When traveling to the U.S., Benefit from the United States Customs and Border Protection (USCBP), which means that all immigration and customs procedures will be completed in Abu Dhabi before departure. Guests must arrive at the USCBP facility no later than 90 minutes before departure.
  5. Check flight time and departure terminalIn view of the substantial increase in the number of passengers, Etihad Airways will re-arrange the check-in procedures for economy class passengers on the following flights to Terminal 1:
    • EY533 to Beirut (BEY) on July 14, 15, 16 and 17
    • Flight from EY653 to Cairo (CAI) on July 14, 15, 16 and 17
    • EY037 Fly to Paris (CDG) on July 14, 15, 16 and 17
    • Flight from EY73 to Zurich (ZRH) on July 14, 16 and 17
  1. Check baggage allowance Before departure to the airport: 7 kg in economy class, 12 kg in first class and business class. The maximum dimensions of carry-on luggage are: height 50 cm, depth 25 cm, and width 40 cm. Or, pre-purchase additional checked baggage at a special price on etihad.com or through the app before departure.
  2. Etihad Airways Business Class Lounge Provide services to guests who wish to enjoy Etihad’s quality hospitality before boarding. Guests travelling in economy class can purchase the right to use the Etihad Lounge. Guests staying in premium cabins can enter for free.
  3. Want more space on board? Ask about immediate upgrade to business class or first class when checking in. Or consider pre-purchasing the “Economy Class” or “No Neighbor Seat” option within 72 hours before departure.
