Jason Oppenheim: I am a very creative thinker. I have a “whatever it takes” attitude towards everything. I also pay great attention to detail. Success often comes from the details. Sometimes it’s not the honorable part of the job, but I think what always sets the best people apart in any profession is that most people can do the top 90% of any job, really impressive professional People can excel in the last 10%, it’s the details.

Your family has run real estate for generations. Did they give you any lessons or advice when you started? oppenheim group?

Growing up, my dad would say “whatever it takes” about just about everything. When you are looking for an agent to join your firm, what qualities indicate that someone will be successful?

I spend a lot of time in the interview process; I’m personally involved. I have a pretty good idea of ​​someone’s ambitions, if they’re invested in it for the right reasons. If you got into real estate because you thought it was sexy, or you liked watching our show, or you thought you could make easy money, then none of that makes you a successful real estate agent.

If you’re really passionate about real estate — you can be passionate about many different areas of real estate — if you’re just a really hard worker, you don’t make excuses, you don’t have unrealistic expectations, you Smart, then you are the right attorney for The Oppenheim Group. You take your role as a manager and your professional and personal responsibilities very seriously. How do you navigate office drama, especially when the stakes are so high – when you know it’s going to be shown to millions of people?

I learned not to be as intrusive as I used to be, to be passive, and to feel like it was my responsibility to fix all the interoffice drama. I also realize that what seems like a big deal today might not look like a big deal a month or six months from now. I get better at taking a deep breath and letting things sort themselves out instead of feeling like it’s all my responsibility. It doesn’t have to be resolved right away.

you give real estate tips instagram. What is it that buyers and sellers always overlook? Is there anything we haven’t talked about enough?

I don’t think you can stress enough the importance of presentation. Even when I hand in my book report in third grade, I make sure it’s perfectly printed and I put it in a report cover with a plastic sleeve. I’ve always been a believer in public speaking, and I don’t think there is a bigger career than selling multi-million dollar properties. Even with an office at The Oppenheim Group, I would spend $1 million to build an office, while other brokerages would spend $50,000 to $100,000. Introductions are important in every aspect of real estate.

Do you apply it to your life?

yes! You only live once, why not? I like to present myself well – a nice car, nice clothes. I just went for a manicure. You can enjoy the demo, which I think is very important. Enjoy it in that regard. Show yourself and show other things in your life. Honestly, it all boils down to one word, pride. I think if people could be more focused on one thing, it would be to take more pride in everything they do.

What’s the toughest deal you’ve ever done? How do you stay calm when things start to get tough?

Almost every deal is tough, but I like tough deals. I really like it. I’m selling a really tough deal right now. I’m currently trying to sell a completely demolished house for $7 million. It has actually been demolished and needs to be completely rebuilt. It doesn’t get any more complicated than that. I thrive on complex transactions, I love them, and I think that’s probably what I do best.

What factors do you think allow you to thrive in these situations?

I enjoy creative thinking and problem solving. It’s something I’m good at. It’s like a puzzle. It’s a logical puzzle, which I like. I like figuring things out and making things work. I also like adding value, and I think I add value in complex transactions. Most people can do an easy transaction, you don’t need me.

How do you adjust or fix something when something isn’t working? What strategies can you try?

I just make it work. I believe there is an answer to every question, and I think I have the power to find that answer. I can’t really think of a problem that I haven’t been able to figure out and fix. I don’t think it justifies the fact that I believe every question has an answer.

Who or where do you turn to for business advice?

my brother. He is the smartest, most creative person I know. I trust him more than anyone on the planet, including giving me the best advice. If we agree on something, I feel more confident. It’s a built-in best friend/confidant/advisor. He can play the naysayer very well, so he’s the perfect person to handle complex or important decisions. I can’t remember the last time I made an important decision without him.

Do you generally agree or does he always bring a different perspective?

[On] Important things, we usually agree on, but we often bring different perspectives. We’re all lawyers, and we’re all very capable…to cross-examine each other and argue different points of view, even when we don’t believe them. Just to make sure we’re thinking carefully and making the right decisions. We do this all the time, on nearly every major decision we make.

Did you find your legal background very helpful in making the switch to real estate?

Absolutely.My legal acumen is very helpful [in real estate] Because you’ve been dealing with contracts, and business managers, lawyers, you name it.More importantly, it taught me how to creatively, analytically, and [to] Problem solving is a skill that can be applied in almost any career.

You’ve had some high-profile relationships. What creates the foundation of a solid, loving partnership?

Trust and respect are the two most important things. I’ve had this experience in my relationships. This cannot be overemphasized, the importance of respecting your partner and trusting your partner. Communication is very important to me and it is an essential part of any relationship I may be in.

What does a typical day look like for you?

I don’t have a typical day at all, which is probably one of the reasons I love real estate.

Today, I woke up early, had a cup of coffee, watched a bit of the World Cup, got my nails done, took about ten or fifteen calls, did a podcast, this interview, and [will] Get dressed for the People’s Choice Awards.

Emails, texts, and phone calls make up most of my day, with my girlfriends enjoying a nice lunch. I also like to enjoy finer things, whether it’s a manicure or a nice lunch, or a little TV in the evening – and fun things like the People’s Choice Awards. Red carpets are fun.

You said in a recent interview that you only eat two meals a day. What other things have you found to be most effective in keeping you healthy?

I love going to the gym, even if it’s just for 25-30 minutes.I get bored if I go to the gym for more than 30 minutes, but I firmly believe get Go to the gym, even for a short amount of time. I eat twice a day, but I don’t eat super healthy, I just don’t eat that much.

I just go to the gym and do whatever I feel like doing, or whatever I haven’t done for a few days. I’m just messing around and having fun. If you can’t enjoy it, you won’t do it. So I make sure I like it.

You have a lot going on. How do you manage all this? What keeps you on track and in balance in your life?

I like being busy. I love working, I really do. I am happier working than not working. Through therapy and maturity over the past few years, I’ve done a better job of being less passive, thinking more methodically, and not feeling overwhelmed.

It makes me happier, but at the end of the day, I just enjoy it. I can balance a lot of things at once effortlessly and enjoy the purpose it provides me. I love creating success around me and seeing other people succeed around me. I really like it, so the balance I create is because I really like what I do.

You mentioned that therapy has been very valuable to you.

I started doing this because my brother and I wanted to improve our relationship and I just continued doing it alone because I really got a lot of help and insight into how to be a better boss, how to be a better person. I have a checklist on my phone that I create with my therapist and check it out more often. I can’t even tell you how much therapy has helped me understand myself better and be a better person, it has made me a better boss, a better boyfriend. I highly recommend it.

Just like I go to the gym to work out, I go to therapy, which I think is just as important. I don’t think there is anyone on this planet who cannot be helped by therapy.
