SM Entertainment Shared this year’s annual year-end compilation “2022 Winter SMTOWN: SMCU Palace”.
The album features artists from various labels – including red velvet, EXO, Girls’ Generation, Esper, NCT, SHINee, super teen, TVXQ and soloist Konta with python – Team up with new combinations.
‘SMCU Palace’ features title track ‘cure’, according to a press release, “sends a message of solidarity with the global movement against climate change”. Soloists and group leaders Kangta, BoA, TVXQ’s U-know, Super Junior’s Leeteuk, Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon, SHINee’s Onew, EXO’s Suho, Red Velvet’s Irene, NCT’s Taeyong, Mark and Kun, and Karina from aespa both appeared in the song.
Elsewhere, Red Velvet and aespa team up ‘Beautiful Christmas’Shared earlier this month, the dance-pop hit “Hot & Cold,” starring EXO’s Kai, Red Velvet’s Seulgi, NCT’s Jeno and aespa’s Karina, makes an appearance on the tracklist. A “stage video” was released for the latter, which found four artists performing live in front of a chilly, grand palace backdrop.

On January 1st, SM’s artists will hold a free live concert “2023 SMTOWN LIVE: SMCU Palace @Kwangya”, performing tracks from the album. The show will be available on SMTOWN’s YouTube channel and Beyond Live.
At the same time, the label has confirmed Supergroup GOT The Beat will make their first comeback in Januarya year after their debut ‘Back’The unit consists of BoA, Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon and Hyoyeon, Red Velvet’s Seulgi and Wendy, and aespa’s Winter and Karina.
Speaking of NME in october, Seulgi reflected on being a member of GOT The Beat. “I was really honored to be invited to be part of that project, a cross-generational group that you only see in SM Entertainment,” she said. “It’s a rare opportunity to see the fresh, youthful, vibrant vibe of aespa, together with the professional experience and developed skills of Girls’ Generation and BoA, all in one place.”
